Production Meeting Reflection 3

In this week I was assigned to do a sound volume map, and to add my section onto the master script. The volume map was just to basically go through every transition that I could think off, and then say where I could possibly use it, this helped, gain a better understanding of the sound board, for example, I learnt the levels of each sound transitions and how they should be competed with no faults. Then the master script had to say what type of sound will be used where, so the dialougue, where each bit of music will go.

This week in my personal opinion I worked well, however with the volume map, I think I may have taken more time then needed, due to the fact that I was also learning how each transition would help me with what I’m doing, I done this so I gained a better understanding of where and a how im going to use each transition. Although this may have been time consuming, I think it was time well spent, with this I now have that knowledge and hopefully not make any mistakes on the live day.

Next week is our live day, so there’s a lot of preparation that is going to happen building up to this. So with my task essiantlly being on the live day, I’ll try using my spare time helping people around and getting more fluent with sound transitiotns and learning the script.

Production Meeting Reflection - 2

So my task this week as Sound Mixer was to find, suitable Music that could potentially be implemented within the production. To do this it was important for me to make sure that my choices of music worked well with the theme, and was appropriate to the production. To make sure of this, I asked the Director Jasmeet, to give me a sense of direction of what genre and type of music she wanted and what would go well with the whole production.

well I managed to find music and sounds, that the group also agreed too, i had to make sure this was important, as its a group project.

Within the production meeting, people did not like, whistle, so to change that, we as the group decided to get rid of the idea, as we thought it wouldn't work well.

For the next week, i am going to make a sound level script, where ill have a script showing each sound and how loud I want it to be and where i want it to be.

I had Jasmeet, the director, to help me find suitable music, i found this to be very helpful, and it gave me a hindsight of what the group wanted. If i didn't have that i would of went with my own choice of music, which i did, but went with music that i thought would work well.

Music and sound noises that could potentially be used in the production.

To make sure of this, I asked the Director Jasmeet, to give me a sense of direction of what genre and type of music she wanted and what would go well with the whole production.

Ideally the final choice is mine but I wanted to make sure that I didn’t go off-track, and find music that would be up to everyone’s liking, so I went with music that was familiar to everyone.

I also made sure they were instrumental, due to the fact they’re going to be played behind people talking so I dint want it to mix in, that way it would sound weird.

So the music choices I chose where:

  • ·       Flo Rida – Blow me
  • ·        Olly Murs – Troublemaker
  • ·        Jason Darulo – Trumpets
  • ·        Salena Gomez – Come & Get it
  •                Kid Ink - show me
  •                Fancy - iggy
  •                The vamps - Can we dance
  • ·        A beep sound
  • ·        Ding sound
  • ·        A round of applause
  • ·        A timer
  • ·        An American baseball organ

These are all song we have heard before and I think it will work really well with the production.
I also go asked to find some sounds that could potentially be integrated within the production.
And the sounds are:

All these sounds will be used throughout the production.

Everything will be downloaded onto an Mp3 format so that way it will be easier for me as sound mixer to put them in when we need to.
