Pitch for programming idea

TV Show pitch

For this task we have been asked to plan a Magazine show which will be televised on a daytime TV channel E4, the aim of the show is to display our music videos we created. The show must correlate along side the theme the music video, therefore we will be able to meed our target audiences interests. I will display my idea of how i would want the show to look and in detail how I would want it to look like below. I have gained some inspiration from the Alan Carr show, and Top Gear, these shows seem to flow really well and being at the same age as my target audience, they keep my interested in whats going on.

  The name of my show:

The name I cam up with is, "The Tea Note", I used the word "Tea", as a play on word, I spelt it in the terms of a cup of tea, because I want the program to be a weekend morning show, this then works with the note "T" in music so i thought the play on word would work well.

The studio set:

I have created a basic studio setup, the reason for this is, I will have my presenter and guest in front of a green screen, looking at it from this point of view, it look rather basic, but from my visual point I currently have, it will look professional, and with my current scheme, which ill talk about further on it will go really well.

This image shows the camera lay out of the studio, Camera 1, is for the presenter who will be sitting on the chair, this is there to capture specific shots just for the presenter, to capture facial expressions and just single shots. Camera 2 is there to capture shots of everyone on set, this is when the present asks questions to the guests on the sofa. and Camera 3 is for the guests, again to capture facial expressions or shots just on the guests.

THE BACKGROUND 

So looking at my background, in this cast the image that will be shown on the green screen, at the moment I've currently got an idea of everything  being vibrant and standing out. So what I done is give my logo a bright background, and I think this would be a good idea for the background image, this way people know the show and will be able to identify the logo wherever they see it. 

As you can see I used a cup of tea as the main background image, so this will correlate with the title of the show, I also think with the font and simplicity of the logo, it will work well and look professional.

Content Ideas

To break the show up I have divided it into two sections, in each section I will have a different guest, these guest will be the producers of their music video, I will talk more about this when I get to the running order. But for now, in each section I want to have prerecorded content showed. 

The current ideas I have for the three prerecorded parts are:

A countdown - This is where our presenter will go through the top 3 music videos of the week, but just to link in with the ideas of our music videos I will have music videos that are similar to the ones that I have chosen, this again is to aim at my target audience to keep them involved and interested in the show.

Hot Seat - This is an idea that I wanted to be shown near the end of the show, the aim of it is, a guest will be sat in a seat and have a 30 second timer to answer as many questions as they can from their fans, these questions will be in the forms of, emails, Text and Tweets. 

Presentation styles

The presentation styles will be simple but again vibrant, I wanted to stick to with the black on yellow theme, as you can see like my logo. 

I was thinking of maybe having two presenters, one male, and one female, the reason for this is it would appeal to both audiences, AKA males and females. And if we take shows such as "The One Show" and "Friday Download", we see two presenters, from my personal point of view I think the conversation flows better. I would like my presenters to be well spoken and come across with a lot of confidence, their dress sense, would formal but not too plain. Because you have to remember that we are aiming for teenagers and young adults to watch the show. This also brings me to my next point, the grammar I want them to use has to be formal but not to formal, so slag would be appropriate, as its only a breakdown of a modern English term for exam "OMG" is just a breakdown of "Oh My God". 

Visual Styles

The amount of Cameras I will have in total will be four, looking again on the image on the left, reason being, I will have the first three cameras in a fixed position like I said, then I will have a fourth camera which will be portable to access other shots. This will keep the audience engaged in whats going on with the show.

• Presenter introduces the show and whats going to happen - 2 mins 
• Introduce whats the hot seat is, and explains to fans how they can ask questions to the guests - 1 min 
• First guest and music video - 6 mins  
• second guest and music video - 6 mins   
• Top 3 music videos - 3 mins
• Third guest and music video - 6 mins  
• Hot seat -  5 mins
